Movies, Parties & Trivia 3/2

9:00 AM / Comments (0) / by BayScope

There are a few interesting things happening today for people with many different tastes. For the laid back, chill person there's a great movie to see. The party girl can dance the night away at an event especially catered to her, and for the intellectual there's a trivia event with great prizes. There are also the usual weekly poetry shows in Berkeley and downtown Oakland to attend, but I attempted to mix it up a little this week. I hope it's appreciated.

Free Movie: "Where the Wild Things Are"
Actual Cafe
6334 San Pablo Ave., Oakland

Movie night tonight starts at 6pm at the Actual Cafe, featuring the old classic "Where the Wild Things Are." This is great for kids and adults, and the Cafe is serving free popcorn as well as $4 pints and sandwiches. So if you're looking for a relaxed way to spend a Wednesday evening, look no further.

Good Times (A Party for Women)
The Den
1912 Telegraph, Oakland

Everyone should take the time to party once in a while, and tonight The Den is catering to the women. If you're a Lady looking to enjoy yourself with no strings attached, then Good Times is where you'll want to be. Tonight is all about Reggae, R&B, 90's and Hip Hop. Throw in some Latin and Tribal House and you're all set for tonight's Good Times session. There's free food, no cover, and the event is strictly Women Only! Party starts at 7pm and lasts till midnight so enjoy .

Bobby G's Trivia Night
Bobby G's Pizzeria
2072 University Ave., Berkeley

If movies aren't what you're into, and parties don't interest you then tonight's trivia challenge is probably just what you need. Sign-ups for Wednesday trivia nights start at 8pm at Bobby G's Pizzeria and last till 10:30pm. Bring a few friends to form a good team and put your knowledge to the test. Winners are awarded Gift certificates and bragging rights for the week. If you think you have what it takes to compete, then by all means, show up and show out.
