Art, Movie & Comedy 3/30

9:00 AM / Comments (0) / by BayScope

The weather is finally looking up! I can't wait until the nights get warmer, then it will be perfect for stargazing. Until then, there's a great art event, movie, and comedy show tonight. Everything is free so don't worry about stopping by the bank before. Also, for free events, be sure to get there early. Lots of people tend to show up so getting your place ahead of time helps.

Decent Exposure: Art Selling & Trading Night
Project One
251 Rhode Island St., San Francisco
6pm - 10pm

Aspiring artists are welcome here. If you're looking to sell your artwork, or are looking to buy some original artwork, check out tonight's event at Project One. Some local artists participating include Matt Furle, Aiyana Udesen, Sam Snowden and Ryan De La Hoz just to name a few. Event is 21 and up.

Free Movie: Thelonious Monk
Actual Cafe
6334 San Pablo Ave., Oakland
7pm - 9pm

Actual Cafe is great for movies. Tonight's feature is a documentary on the life of the jazz legend Thelonious Monk. It's not as tragic as the Temptations, but it will still leave you entertained. As always at the Actual Cafe there is free popcorn and drink specials, so enjoy.

Backroom Standup Comedy Night
McNally's Irish Pub
5332 College Ave., Oakland
8pm - 10pm

If nothing else, you can always expect a comedy show to be happening somewhere. Tonight get your laughs in at McNally's. See some local veterans and newbies in this 2 hour lineup. Tonight's features are Ben Feldman, Amy Miller, Roman Leo and Candy Churilla. Check it out.
