Even though we're not in New Orleans, the spirit of Mardi Gras is still in the air. It's Fat Tuesday! If there was ever a reason to party, this is it. There are a few good opportunities for you to collect your beads so take advantage. Mardi Gras is only once a year!


FAT Tuesday Motorcycle Parade
333 Corey Way, South San Francisco

Celebrate Fat Tuesday on a Harley! Watch the parade through South San Francisco, Daly City & Colma. Entry is $15 and includes a ticket to a cajun feast, a ride pin & Mardi Gras beads! Dress in your best costumes because prizes will be given out for costumes, best bike floats, and helmet masks. Parade and festival starts at 7pm.


Mardi Gras in the Fillmore - Fat Tuesday
West Bay Conference Center
1300 on Fillmore

If you can't make it out to South San Francisco, go down to Fillmore St. to get your fill of Fat Tuesday festivities. From 5 to 7pm watch the parade filled with live music, and performers. If you stick around long enough you can stop by the 5th Annual Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball. Tickets are available online. Dress in your best costume and you could win $300. Enjoy dinner, dancing, and a live DJ from 7 to 11pm.

Rickshaw Stop

The Rickshaw shop is at it again. Come watch Bay Area designers put their skills to the test live on stage. Designers have an hour to put together their best pieces and the crowd chooses the winner. It's Project Runway, Bay Area style. There's no cover for this event and a cash bar so enjoy. Doors open at 7pm to the 18+ crowd.


Open Mic @ The Starry Plough
3103 Shattuck Ave., Berkeley

It's Tuesday at the Starry Plough, and that means open mic. If you have something to say, sign-ups start at 7:30pm! Also, don't forget that's it's Fat Tuesday so there will probably be a few Mardi Gras surprises tonight as well. There's no cover so go out and enjoy. Show starts at 8pm.
