Comedy, Nerds & Movies 3/16

9:00 AM / Comments (0) / by BayScope

Yesterday was filled with rain, and today doesn't look that much better, but at least we'll have a very green Spring to look forward to. Stay dry with these indoor events. Tonight there's a comedy show if you're looking to laugh, a Nerd Nite if you want to "learn," and a free movie for the movie-goers.

Stand Up Comedy with Danny Dechi
Bazaar Cafe
5927 California St., San Francisco

Free comedy show tonight at the Bazaar Cafe! Go out and see local Bay Area comedians David Kleinberg, Erikka Innes, Mike Capozzola and more. Danny Dechi is hosting.

Nerd Nite SF
Rickshaw Stop
155 Fell St., San Francisco

"Ides of March got you down? Come, distract yourself from any lingering sense of foreboding (or other mid-month malaise) with beer and brainpower, as we assimilate this month's presentations on the defense of videogames as art, the very long internet cable under the sea, and the wicked-cool technology behind the Morrison Planetarium. Be there and be square for only 8 bucks!"
Doors open at 7:30, show starts at 8. $8 cover.

Free Movie: Almost Famous
Actual Cafe
6334 San Pablo Ave., Oakland

It's movie night yet again at the Actual Cafe. The 2000 movie "Almost Famous" is showing free to the public, popcorn included. The movie tells the story of William as he follows a rock band on tour, looking to write a hit story for Rolling Stone Magazine. The show starts at 6pm.
