Lick-Wilmerding High School

It's day two of Lick-Wilmerding High School's 2011 Showfest! Come out to see all of the home-made art and crafts made by the students, and even take something home. It's carnival style with music and game booths as well. The majority of the funds raised will go to support some great causes around the world. Festival starts at 11am and runs until 3pm so take the time and show your support.


Mardi Gras Parade
St. John Coltrane Church
1286 Fillmore, San Francisco

Mardi Gras wouldn't be Mardi Gras without a Parade. Go down to the St. John Coltrane church and follow the parade down Fillmore St. to Marcus Book Store. See some great costumes, hear awesome music and collect your beads! There will be a reception afterwards so don't miss out. The parade starts at 3pm.


Community Rumba
La Pena Cultural Center
3105 Shattuck Ave., Berkeley

Take a break from the ordinary. The La Pena Cultural Center is hosting a Rumba night. Learn the dance styles of the Cubans. "Rumba developed in rural Cuba, with strong influences from African drumming and Spanish poetry and singing." This event is is free and lasts from 3:30 till 6pm.
