FRIDAY

Treasure Hunters Roadshow
Holiday Inn Express

For those who've always wanted to be on Antique Roadshow, this is your chance. The Treasure Hunters Roadshow will be in Fremont thru Saturday so gather up all your antiques and head on over. There will be some collectors there to tell you just how much your items are worth and if your lucky you'll make a nice amount of cash. Show lasts from 9am to 6pm.


Free Friday Night at the De Young
De Young Museum - 5pm
50 Hagiwara Tea Garden Dr., San Francisco

Come out for this free event and enjoy some live music, great art, and exciting workshops. It's really an interesting event for a Friday night. There will also be a hands on portion where you'll have a chance to discover your artistic side. Be at the De Young Museum at 5pm and stay till 8:45pm.


Film Screening: "Frida"
Mechanics' Institute

Personally I haven't seen this movie since high school, but I do remember enjoying it. Frida is a classic movie about the trials of a female hispanic artist! Come out for a free showing tonight at the Mechanics' Institute at 6pm.


Disney's 1940's "Fantasia" at the Paramount
Paramount Theater - 7pm

This is another classic movie, and it's great for the kids. If Frida isn't your type of movie then definitely make your way out to the Paramount Theater in Oakland for a free showing of the Disney Classic "Fantasia." You will definitely discover the magic of Disney all over again. Showing starts at 7 but be there early.


Indie Dancerock Night with The Hundred Days

If you haven't been to the Shattuck Down Low, tonight would be a great night to go. Tonight The Hundred Days are performing and they are sure to bring the house down! Don't miss out on a great band. Cover is only $5.

The Good Food Awards Marketplace

This is a one day event you really don't want to miss! Good Food Award Winners are converging today on San Francisco to share their winning foods and drinks with us! It's a free event so come taste everything, buy your favorites, and leave fully satisfied. Event lasts from 8am to 2pm at the Ferry Building in the city.

SF Underground Market

This is one of San Francisco's hidden treasurers. If you're not a member of the SF Underground Market, you should be. This event is exclusively members only, but membership is free so you can't lose. Come out and buy produce and crafts from the locals, and later on enjoy the nightlife with some good food and great music. Event is 21+ with a sliding scale. $5 before 11pm and $10 after. This event lasts from 11am till 2am the next morning so stay all day and party all night.


Free Outdoor Screening: Shaolin Soccer
Japantown Peace Plaza - 7pm
Post & Buchanan St., San Francisco

Free movie time! Movies are the perfect option for the person who just wants to relax on their Saturday night. "Shaolin Soccer" is about a young Shaolin follow being reunited with his brothers after going through some tough times. They then all get together and use their karate-chopping-skills to start a soccer team. 7pm showing.


Magic at the Rex

It's not often that you find a good magic show. This show is sponsored by the Rex and put on by Absolute Magic. It's described as "an evening of mystery, wonderment and laughs," all of which are expected from a good magic show. Come out and enjoy this "magical" evening and learn a few tricks while you're there. Show starts at 8pm.


Mission District Scavenger Hunt Night

As adults, we rarely go on scavenger hunts. Well, here's your chance to get back in the game. CLASH (California League of Adult Scavenger Hunters) is hosting a great hunt tonight and you'll want to be a part. Cover is $5 online or $10 at the door. Show up by yourself or with a friend. Either way you'll end up with a few good laughs and some great stories to tell. Check it out. The hunt starts at 9.

Wayne Wallace Latin Jazz Quintet

I use Sunday's to catch up on the sleep I missed from Saturday nights activities. This Sunday you can relax listening to the smooth Jazz sounds of Wayne Wallace and the Latin Jazz Quintet. They'll be at Amoeba Music in Berkeley for a free performance. You'll also get a chance to but their new cd before it's officially released. Show starts at 3.



Tango Revolution Night
Caffe Trieste - 6pm

It's time for some latin dancing! I covered Salsa dancing last week and tonight you can experience the art of Tango. Come out to Caffe Trieste on Market Street from 7:30pm to 10pm for a night of live music, great food, and Tango! Also, for the beginners there will be a $5 intro class starting at 6pm so you'll be ready to dance the night away.


Martin Luther King Musical Tribute
Oakland Scottish Rite Center - 7

It's that time of year to pay tribute to a man who played a key role in the civil rights movement. Tonight is a musical tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. featuring Goapele, Linda Tillery, Terrance Kelly, and the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir. Come out and remember Dr. King in song. SF Comedy Showcase
Punch Line Comedy Club - 8

Comedy time! The Punch Line Comedy Club is at it again. Go end your weekend with a good laugh from some of the best local bay area comedians. Punch Line has been known to feature special guests like Bill Burr, Doug Benson, and Dave Chappelle. Get your tickets in advance at Goldstar Events for a discount on the regularly $12.50 entry fee. Show starts at 8.
