Movies, Food & Art 2/16

9:00 AM / Comments (0) / by BayScope

It's a great day for the movie buffs, foodies, and artists. There's a great double feature tonight in San Francisco, an annual art show with live music and performances, and the opportunity to get some insight on some great food! Personally, I'm wating for this weekend's Chinese New Year Festival, but until then I'll eat, drink, and be merry.

Free Showing - Batman: Dead End & Hunter Prey
The Variety Preview Room
582 Market St., San Francisco

Movies are better when they come in two's and tonight you'll not only get to see some great films but also get to mix and mingle with the director Sandy Collora. If you enjoy old fashioned sci-fi films, then this is a double-feature you won't want to miss. If you're still not sure, know that both of these films were big hits at the Comic-Con so you won't be wasting your time. Doors and bar open at 6pm, and the film starts at 7pm. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis and donations are greatly appreciated.

A Sensory Feast
SOMAArts Cultural Center
934 Brannan St., San Francisco

Food is essential to life, but there's no reason it should be bland and boring. The SOMAArts Cultural Center and Kearny Street Workshop are hosting this great Asian American food exhibition. Tonight's presentation lasts from 7 to 9pm and it's entitled "Bitter is Better?: A Presentation of the National Bitter Melon Council"  Check the site for more info.

SF Weekly 4th Annual Artopia - Masterminds Showcase
Public Works
161 Erie St., San Francisco

The 4th time's a charm! Attend the 4tn annual Artopia showcase in San Francisco! Not only will there be some great art pieces, but you can expect to hear some great local bands and see some interesting performance. The art showcase starts at 7pm and the official after-party begins at 10pm.  Get your tickets as soon as possible to ensure you don't miss out.
