The West Coast's Largest Book Sale!
Held at Fort Mason Center’s Festival Pavilion, the sale features over 500,000 books, DVDs, CDs, books on tape, vinyl and other forms of media, 10,000 boxes of materials, 50+ categories and over 400 volunteers. Everything is $4 or less and items on Sunday are $1!
All proceeds from the Big Book Sale benefit the San Francisco Public Library’s literacy programs for children, teens and adults. Free to the public.
Eat Real Festival

The Eat Real Festival in Oakland’s Jack London Square (September 23 – 25, 2011) is all about street food, fresh summer produce, food competitions, chef demonstrations, live music, dance performances, handcrafted local beers, and ice cream sold from the back of a bicycle. Chinatown Music Festival 2011

The Festival will feature free performances by Jest Jammin’, Genryu Arts, Sherlin Chan & The Star Valley Children’s Choir, Latin Jazz Youth Ensemble of San Francisco led by John Calloway, Charlie Chin, San Francisco Guzheng Society and the world-premiere of “Portrait of Sun Yat-sen” by Jon Jang and Unbound Chinatown, celebrating the October 10 Centennial of the Chinese Revolution and the Chinese Republic’s first provisional president, Dr. Sun Yat-sen.
