Comedy, Dance & Food 9/14

9:00 AM / Comments (0) / by BayScope

It's funny how some weeks the days seem to fly by, and other weeks they just move so slow. Though Bayscope has just been revived, this seems like one of those slow weeks. Regardless, there are still events to be covered, and soon they'll be accompanied with pictures. Everything looks better with pictures.

UN Plaza
Martet St. between 7th & 8th, San Francisco
9pm - 4pm

Join us on Wednesday, September 14th as we celebrate 30 years of Heart of the City Farmers' Market! Come to the market to enjoy live music, free games and prizes, specially-discounted produce, a community art show, free face painting and balloon animals, hoola hoops, kettle korn, farmer biographies and market history displays, and delicious local food! Stop by the stage for our 1pm birthday program as farmers and City officials take a look back at the market's 30-year history.  Help us celebrate being FARMER-RUN SINCE 1981!

Lake Merritt Dance Center
200 Grand Ave., Oakland
7pm - 9pm

The Oaktown8s Square Dance club is holding a free introductory class. Come and meet new people. No partner is required. They have a live caller and dance to all kinds of music. Free admission for all who are interested in learning.

408 Clement St., San Francisco
9pm - 11pm

Sylvan's hosting an open mic. Except it's not exactly like a normal mic, I mean, there's still a mic, comics still sign up and do their sets, people laugh and what not, but then there's this little sidewinder/screwball-twist-out-of-left-field move that set's us apart from the rest of the mics in SF. Come and see what it is for yourself.
