Music & Sports 4/29

9:00 AM / Comments (0) / by BayScope

Normally I try to find at least 3 interesting things happening daily, but even though it's Friday, things were a bit dry in the events department. You can only go to so many comedy shows. One thing to keep in mind however is that it's still Dance Week in the bay area. If all else fails, go out and learn some new moves at one of many free events all around the bay.

Ancient American Music Night
De Young Museum
50 Hagiwara Tea Garden Dr., San Francisco
6pm - 8:45pm

"Live music of the ancient Americas by Xochimochi, featuring Jim Berenholtz, Ernesto Hernandez Olmos, and Mazatl Galindo. Learn to make talismans inspired by the discoveries of the Americas and a free 7pm movie showing of “Ulama” The Game of Life and Death – the mesoamerican Ball Game practiced  in Mexico for thousands of years."

This is a free event.

Learn the Sport of Curling
Oakland Ice Center
519 18th St., Oakland
6:30pm - 8:15pm

"This is a special opportunity to learn from the best of the best.
Members of the Norwegian men's national team are coming to the Bay Area--and they want to curl with you! Fresh from their European Championship win, Christoffer Svæ, Thomas Løvold, and Markus Høiberg will be on the ice Friday night in Oakland. They wore the awesome pants on their way to a silver medal in the winter Olympics.

No special equipment required, just dress warmly and wear sneakers.
