Marathon, Story Telling & Yoga 4/6

9:00 AM / Comments (0) / by BayScope

I always see Wednesday's as poetry night. There's the Berkeley Slam at the Irish Pub, and there's also an Open Mic Night at the Air Lounge in Downtown Oakland. Whichever one you go to will have your fingers snapping. If not, check out what else is in store.

Sports Basement
1590 Bryant St., San Francisco
6:30pm - 8pm

"Interested in volunteering for the 2011 San Francisco Marathon? Meet us at Sports Basement Bryant Street  tomorrow, April 6th from 6:30pm-8:00pm for a sign-up event. Our Staff and Ambassadors will be around to chat, share food and drinks, and raffle off prizes for attendees. This is also a great opportunity to register for The 2011 or 2012 SF Marathon, as our volunteers will receive a special discount on registration for this year or 2012!

Or you can just run with us!  We'll also join Sports Basement's Run Club for a 3.5 mile or 7.5 mile run.  If you plan to run, please arrive promptly at 6:30pm.  Then stay and catch up with us after the run for raffle prizes and snacks."

Jellyfish Art Gallery
1286 Folsom St., San Francisco
7:30pm - 10pm

"With its rich heritage of underground subversion, the Bay Area is home to some of the world’s most (in)famous pranksters. Whether their schemes are making a political statement or just poking a sharp stick in the eye of the dominant paradigm, these instigators of nefarious shenanigans remind us to take life less seriously, and that a little mischief never hurt anybody … well, mostly.
Join us for a very special edition of Fireside Storytelling, as we’ve gathered an all-star line-up of pranksters to come tell their best stories."

Niroga Center
1808 University Ave, Berkeley
7:30pm - 10pm

It's the first Wednesday of April and the perfect day for Yoga. Check out the Niroga Center website for a full list of classes throughout the day. If you haven't tried Yoga before, now's the time to do it, for Free! Get a good workout in to end your day on a high note.
